Extended Family Beach Session – Gold Coast Photographer
This was one of those sessions that reminds me why I do what I do.
An extended family, gathered in one place. Bare feet on the sand, little ones running wild, grandparents soaking in the moment. No fuss, no pressure, no need to perform. Just togetherness, sunshine, and a whole lot of love.
As a Gold Coast family photographer, I get asked a lot about extended family shoots — and the answer is always yes. These sessions are such a beautiful way to honour your people. To celebrate where you’ve come from, what you’re growing into, and the connections that hold it all together.
This session had it all. Big hugs, belly laughs, piggyback rides, and some seriously sweet moments between cousins, siblings, and grandparents. The kind of day where you can just feel how much love is in the room (or in this case, on the beach).
We moved slowly along the shoreline, letting everyone settle in. The kids ran ahead. The adults hung back. And the light? Soft and golden — the kind that wraps around everything just right.
Some of my favourite images from the day weren’t the posed ones. They were the moments in between — a quiet chat between sisters, a grandparent wiping a little one’s sandy face, a parent scooping up a child mid-run. Those are the ones that stick.
If you’re thinking about booking your own extended family session on the Gold Coast, I’d love to help you bring it to life. These sessions are full of laughter, connection, and memories that matter.
